Network Maintenance Window 4/18

We’ve recently received notice from one of our upstream network providers at our facility in Atlanta, GA that they will be performing repairs to portions of their network infrastructure and as such, we have scheduled a maintenance window for April 18, 2024 beginning at 12:01AM ET. Immediately preceding our upstream provider’s maintenance window, our network engineers will proactively de-peer our network from that particular upstream provider; this way, our network will not be significantly impacted as a result of any anticipated or unanticipated disruption of service on their network as a result of the maintenance. Once we receive confirmation of the successful completion of the maintenance from our upstream provider, we will immediately re-peer our network with them. Re-peering with the upstream provider will bring our network back to its optimal configuration. During the times in which we are actively de-peering or re-peering, there may be brief periods of increased latency and/or packet-loss, however we do not expect any significant periods of service interruption as a result of this maintenance.

Network Infrastructure

In an ongoing effort to maximize datacenter efficiency and reliability, we are currently in the process of physically relocating portions of our network infrastructure in our Atlanta, GA facility. We’ve scheduled a portion of this migration process to occur during a 3-hour maintenance window beginning at 11:00PM EDT on 3/29/2018 and ending at 2:00AM EDT on 3/30/2018.

While we expect some minor disruption of service to the backend network, it should be brief and intermittent; we do not expect any sustained outages. We will be performing very minor work on the public network as well, but do not expect it to be service-impacting.

Dedicated VM Solutions

We have installed CloudLinux on all servers as well as CageFS.  This fantastic OS allows us to set each user to a dedicated VM within the Dedicated Servers.  This means that if one client is attacked, hacked, or abuses the resources on the server it will only affect their account and not the entire server.  This means that each client has dedicated resources and can’t be affected by other users.  Where else do you get a VM slice of piece for the price of an account on a shared server?
